A Premier Youth Symphony Orchestra for the Central Connecticut Shoreline Region
Welcome! The Shoreline Youth Symphony Orchestra, or SYSO for short, is a community-based orchestral group for high school and middle school age youths living in the central coastal Connecticut region. Our mission is to offer a quality musical experience in orchestra playing for interested young musicians.
We play the great classical symphonic music, original contemporary compositions for orchestra, as well as lighter “pops” or show music. Additionally, SYSO forms other smaller ensembles: two jazz bands, a fiddle club, and Whiz Kids, a younger (middle school age) preparatory orchestra. All of these elements combine to create an opportunity for young musicians to grow and contribute as well as develop their musical talents, all the while enjoying the company of other like-minded students.
